Abad Naluri

Abad Naluri plan Dec environmental symposium and splash fund to green projects
28 October 2007 - 5:31pmWould vertical landscaping count towards mandatory 10% open spaces -as roof-top gardens has been? How to deal with environmental objections to a development project? A corporate answer seems to be to splash cash to their objectors! This tack really show the true colours of money-talks developers. The Ali-Baba project put forward its 25% share holder to speak for the project. What happen to its bigger shareholders? PGCC will generate 30 000 jobs -but the time scale is not specified. Given that the project will take 18 years to complete (and who knows how long it really will take in procrastinating PPPPPPPenang) it work out that the RM25bil project may just generate less than 2000 jobs per year or RM12.5mil to create every job. This is a very poor job generator by any measure -even a small time ice-kacang hawker (Capital RM10 000.00) can generate more jobs per capital than PGCC! The other tactics to deal with environmental question is to hold an international symposium on green environmental technologies. Wait a minute -the queries are about the site-specific environmental problems here. Why widen the topic so big that the questions here would be lost in the infinitely amplified picture frame? It is like answering the the question of `why you don't return the RM5.00 you loaned from me last night?' by publishing an encyclopedia on financial economics! Is this smart -or a just a plain way to treat everyone who ask questions as stupid?
